MECHANISMS OF CHANGESIN A PICTURE 12.2021, online/ solo exhibition
The scholarship project “Mechanisms of Change in the Image” was developed in reference to the material fabric of the immediate industrial surroundings in the northeastern part of Szczecin—an environment subject to numerous transformations. It consists of degraded objects and items that serve as visual raw material. Forms borrowed from the industrial setting serve as the starting point for the artist’s work.
The artworks form a subjective collection of visual forms with a hybrid character, positioned on the border between various media such as painting and object-based art. These are simplified forms, with reduced painterly surfaces, exposed materials from which the works are made, as well as objects and substances collected directly from the surrounding area, which become an integral part of the artistic pieces.
